I met Kelsey when shopping at Young Blood, a boutique in the Virginia Highland neighborhood of Atlanta. She instantly struck me with her style, charm, and enthusiasm for the city. Just moving here, and not knowing many people, it was so refreshing and inspiring to get her take on Atlanta. She has such great personal style too, I knew I wanted to get her into some pieces from my line. As a way to get to know the city more, I asked her to take me around to 5 of her favorite spots wearing 5 different looks from my new collection. I had so much fun chatting with her about what the future of Atlanta looks like, restaurants, shopping and life in general. Adjusting to a new city takes time, but Kelsey really pushed me to the next level of excitement about living here. Here are her picks!
PIEDMONT PARK"Piedmont Park is a wonderful oasis in the middle of the city boasting gorgeous views of the Midtown skyline and access to Lake Clara Meer. Spanning 189-acres, it's the ideal spot for anything from a scenic jog to a leisurely picnic."
HENRY & JUNE“Henry & June is my favorite in-town coffee shop as they carry coffee beans from renowned roasters from around the country. They also create intriguing, must-try beverages, like the rosewater latte and the June Palmer, which is a tasty mix of cold brew and lemonade. While you sip, you can peruse the gorgeous clothing gallery where you'll find the finest pieces from such designers as Megan Huntz (a local favorite), Creatures of Comfort, and Objects Without Meaning.”
YOUNG BLOOD"Young Blood Boutique is a destination for gift-givers, shoppers, and beauty-seekers alike. Once an art gallery, Young Blood has evolved into the dreamiest shop filled with goods from both local and international independent designers and artists. Here, you'll find a large selection of hand-crafted jewelry, ceramics, art prints, and home goods all immaculately displayed within the minimal space. Bonus, I get to spend several days a week at Young Blood as a shopgirl."
ILLEGAL FOOD"Illegal Food offers some of the most delicious food and drinks in the city, and I can even say I've enjoyed the best meal of my life here. While their Sunday brunch is to-die-for, I can be sated just munching on the sriracha honey fries while sipping on any given beverage from their cocktail menu."
WALK"Atlanta is filled with beautiful old buildings, and when the weather is just right, one of my favorite things to do is stroll through the neighborhood with coffee in hand, admiring the architecture and gardens."
